Donald Smith


The Current Chairman of the Chelsea Arts Club, Donald Smith, studied at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, The University of Ife, Nigeria, and Chelsea School of Art. He has exhibited widely since the 1980’s including shows in the UK, France, Austria, Greece, USA, and Japan. He was included in the recent survey exhibition Same As It Ever Was…Painting At Chelsea 1990-2007. He is the Director of Exhibitions at CHELSEA space, London, and curated Late at Tate at Tate Britain in August 2007. He was recently commissioned to make a screen for the Intercontinenal Hotel on Hyde Park corner, a work which incorporates some of the artist-customised Terry De Havilland footware from last year’s ‘Fuck Me Shoes’ auction for the Chelsea Arts Club Trust and the AGBI.
