Congratulations to Chelsea Arts Club Trust alumnus, Alvaro Barrington , who has co-curated an incredible exhibition with Julia Peyton-Jones at Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac. The exhibition, entitled ‘Artists I Steal From’, includes an impressive roster of internationally acclaimed artists in a show that candidly reveals the diverse sources of inspiration in Barrington’s work.
Co-curator, Julia Peyton-Jones says “It’s an incredible window on the world, to see through the eyes of an artist. Artists are able to find the truth in things that are not immediately apparent, which is why one is inspired, informed and reconnected to oneself when looking at a great work of art. With this exhibition, Barrington lays bare his thinking: what he’s looking at, as well as what informs and educates him, which is usually a private process.”
Alvaro received a £2000 Chelsea Arts Club Trust Materials and Research Award in 2016 when he entered his last year of MA Fine Art at the Slade School in London.
Thank you for your donations which make these awards possible – The show at Thaddeus Ropac runs until 9th August 2019 – Don’t miss it!
