My art practice often starts from an emotional experience which could not be verbally processed, and hence had remained unresolved. I am interested in how materials, colour, surface and form translate this non-verbal experience into a physical reality which can be shared with the external world. Each work captures a fragment of the experience and together they create an inner-scape. In recent years, I have also started projects inviting others to join this process of ‘understanding through making’; a workshop project where I give series of exercises to the participants to experience this creative process, and an interview project where I make an object to materialise the stories told by the interviewees. The object is given to the interviewees at the end of the project.
