Eilís Otway (b. 1991, London) is a London based artist. Eilís has worked in commercial galleries and cultural institutions in Manchester and London and is currently studying towards her MA in Painting at Royal College of Art.
Eilís took time away from painting, returning to her childhood home in rural isolation and her practice has been heavily marked by this. She positions her practice around this rift, her experience of this time seeming weightless and elastic; a spacious and open thing. Into this acute awareness of the binds between temporality and production play out notions of transcendence, euphoria, austerity and control.
