Brie Covington is our 2024/25 recipient of the Chelsea Arts Club Trust Award for Performing Arts.
Brie Covington is an American actress and model currently studying at LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art), working towards an MFA in Professional Acting. Her training began in New York at the State University of New York at Fredonia, where she received her BFA in Acting with Minors in Italian Cultural Studies, Global Food Studies and Sustainable Agricultural. She has also trained with the New York Drama Center and Devin Shacket, and is the co-founder of The Group Theatre Collective, a woman-led New York based theatre company focused on creating socially conscious art.
As an actress she has appeared in a range of film and theatre projects, as well as notable commercials with leading brands. Her regional theatre credits include Gloria in Boeing Boeing and Maggie Jean Franklin in 1200 Miles to Jerome both directed by Kathryn Markey.
She has been recognized for her acting work, particularly for her role in the short film Shadows of Dust directed by Ali Matlock, for which she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. The film received recognition of its own and has been featured in various film festivals including Katra Film Series and the International Black Film Festival, and winning awards at the Calcutta International Cult Film Festival. In December 2024 she performed in the role of Lindsay Salmon in The Lovely Bones directed by Ola Ince at LAMDA.
