Ben Doherty makes sculptures and multimedia installations that inhabitthe edges. Representation begins to give way to the uncanny or unknown as structures and objects hover between absurdly interpreting reality and downright defiling it. The work tips over into a parallel present where mysticism and pseudoscience predominate, and amusement and discomfort are only ever just round the corner
