A to Z of London, A to Z Arts’ most recent programme, is currently being delivered throughout the academic year in London primary schools. From the Great Exhibition of 1851 to the humble pigeon, to Vivienne Westwood and the creation of punk, these immersive classes introduce a wide variety of fascinating subjects, unique to the capital, while pupils discover their own local history. A to Z Arts has been working with: The Royal Parks, Electric Cinema, Pearly Kings and Queens of London, National Archives, Brasserie Zedel, Picturehouse Cinemas, London School of Mosaics and RBKC to bring A to Z of London to schools and communities across the capital.
Alice MacDonnell is CEO and founder of A to Z Arts – school programmes that ignite an interest in important (but unfortunately lesser taught) subjects such as History, Geography and Art.
Alice is passionate about encouraging children in self- learning and empowering them to ask questions. As 4 x great granddaughter to Sir Henry Cole, his achievements are a constant inspiration. Alice says: “I can only hope to help carry on his crusade in art and culture education for everyone, four generations later.”
